Graham County Recycling Program Information Updated 2015

The Graham County Sanitation Department makes it easy to keep Graham County clean and waste-free. The department maintains six waste disposal centers and provides free disposal of household waste, appliances, metal and tires without rims. By following the waste disposal guidelines below, you can help keep Graham County and your property clean and waste free. You may recycle everyday but on Wednesday’s, the Transfer Station is shut down to garbage at 12:00 noon in order to take and load recycling materials.



WASTE DISPOSAL GUIDELINES


The main disposal center is located at 400 Snowbird Road and provides FREE disposal of:

Household waste
Appliances and white goods
Metal
Tires (rims must be removed)
Household waste may be dropped off at any time, but appliances, tires, metal, and construction waste must be dropped of Monday-Friday 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. , or Saturday 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Commercial dumping is allowed at the main disposal center for only 3 cents per pound or 60 dollars per ton.

Other “green box” locations are conveniently located throughout the county and allow the disposal of household waste only. Appliances, tires, metal and construction waste may NOT be dropped off in the outlying green boxes. Green boxes are located in the communities of:

Gladdens Creek
East Buffalo
Snowbird Community
Sweetwater
Johnson Gap
Bear Creek
Residents of Graham County include: both full and part-time residents, renters, and vacationers.

All waste must be disposed of according to the waste disposal guidelines and must be placed inside the green box. No brush may be dropped off at the main center or any green box location. A fine of $150 for the first offense will be imposed for improperly disposing of waste.

The septage receiving station charges are as follows:

Residents: $0.09/gallon
Non-Residents: $0.30/gallon
Graham County has opened RV dump stations and the charges are as follows:

Residents: $10/vehicle
Non-Residents: $10/vehicle
