Agency operating hours are Monday thru Friday 7:30am until 3:30pm The Graham County Senior Center will observe all state holidays and will close during inclement weather. The Senior Center is located on West Fort Hill Rd across from EMS building.
The Graham County Senior Center offers a wide variety of services to the senior citizens of Graham County who are 60 years of age or older or the spouse of someone who is 60 years old or older. Priority is given to those meeting or exceeding the poverty level.
For the homebound seniors we offer Meals On Wheels. This program is designed to provider a hot nutritious meal to those who cannot prepare a meal for themselves. This service is free, but donations are accepted.
The Senior Center site offers nutritious meals and activities for seniors who are active and like to fellowship with other seniors. Lunch is served daily at 11:30. There is no charge for lunch, however donations are accepted.
Weekly activities held at the center include:
Games – Daily
Dancing – Thursdays at the Nursing
Home Crafts – Tuesdays
Monthly activities include:
Health & Nutrition Workshops
Out of town shopping trips
Area points of interest and picnics
We also offer referral services for seniors such as SHIIP (Seniors Health Information Program), Medicare Part D assistance, NC division of Deaf and Hard of Hearing and also Rural Development.
All new clients must have completed a registration packet before a your meal can be served. This packet may be picked up at the Senior Center. Meals are ordered by 1:00pm daily. If you wish to have lunch you must have your name on the meal sign-up sheet by either coming in to sign up or by calling in by 1:00pm the day before you wish to eat.
