Graham County is now taking applications for Child Protective Services In-Home Social Worker.
RESPONSIBILITIES SPECIFIC TO IN-HOME CPS SOCIAL WORKERS:
• This Social Worker maintains regular face to face contact with children and families and is responsible for assessing all risk factors and well-being needs affecting children
• Develop a measurable, family specific, written services plan with the parents/caretakers to ensure the safety of children and address all the needs of the family per state standards and revise as necessary.
• This includes using community and agency resources to educate, empower, and strengthen families by utilizing Child and Family Team meetings, intra-agency team meetings, and referrals to appropriate services.
• In Home Social Workers complete case documentation and other service documents and are accountable for compliance with state, federal and agency established standards
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Master’s degree from an accredited school of social work with Child Welfare Collaborative; or
• Master's degree from an accredited school of social work and one year of directly related experience; or
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school of social work with Child Welfare Collaborative and one year of directly related experience; or
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited school of social work and two years of directly related experience; or
• Four-year degree in a human services field or related curriculum including 15 semester hours in courses related to social work or counseling and three years of directly related experience: or
• Graduation from a four-year college or university and four years of directly related experience
• Will consider trainee appointments
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
• A valid Driver’s license with a safe driving record
• This is considered light work; lifting up to 20 pounds
SALARY:
• $33,009.60 – $46,051.20 Depending on Experience

Graham County Department of Public Health is taking applications for a Social Worker III/Case Manager Supervisor position. This position provides social work services in the areas of adult/children services which involves the assessment of individual and family dynamics and needs. Work involves assessments of individual and family dynamics, home visits, development of care plan for clients, etc. Starting pay is $17.05 per hour. Qualifications: Master’s degree in social work from an appropriately accredited institution and one year of directly related experience; or a bachelor’s degree in social work from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of directly related experience; or a master’s degree in a human services field from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of directly related experience; or a bachelor’s degree in a human services field from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of directly related experience; or a bachelor’s degree from an appropriately accredited institution and four years of directly related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Qualifications Required: Knowledge of County Government, Federal & State labor laws, computer literate, 21 years of age or older, a driver’s license, combination of education or experience equivalent to four years in public management field. Responsible for the coordination and implementation of the operation, policies, and procedures of Graham County Government, inclusive of state and federal laws & regulations. Act as a liaison to high level management and elected officials as well as the public. Work closely with the county finance officer to prepare the budget, monitor spending and authorize special appropriation funding and approval / authorization of all purchase orders for the fiscal year’s budget. Work closely with the project manager for solicitation of bids for new projects, equipment, construction, and maintenance work. Oversee the day-to-day operations of county government. Prepares bid specifications for all vendors and contractors. Monitor disbursement of surplus properties. Make recommendations and suggestions to the Graham County Board of Commissioners on a bi-monthly basis. Attend all County Commissioner meetings. Work with state, federal and county boards. Communicate with State and Federal legislators and any other governmental agency representatives. Salary is negotiable based on prior experience. Salary range $30.14 - 51.27. • Initial response to abuse (physical and/or sexual), neglect and dependency reports on children
• Completion of thorough assessments, including use of strong interviewing and documentation skills, and making immediate decisions regarding the safety of children
• Establish protection plans
• Apply crisis intervention techniques
• Provide services up front to assure the maximum safety of children, which could include court action
• Continuously assess the safety, risk, and well-being of identified children
• Will receive approximately 10 new CPS families each month
